CHARACTERS ▶ Steve Rogers and you.
LOCATION ▶ Zion living levels, Steve's apartment or elsewhere.
SUMMARY ▶ R&R with Steven Grant Rogers.
WARNINGS ▶ Wounded national treasure. Will edit w/any real warnings.
NOTES ▶ Catch-all for July threads centered around Steve recovering from plot events. While everyone else is taking 1-2 weeks to rest Steve is taking more like 3-4, for reasons he probably doesn't want you to know about. I'm open to threads taking place at any point in that span on time, depending on your character.

[ Zion's a pretty quiet place for one, maybe two days after those who made their way to Olympus make their way back. They bring with them sobering, even horrifying news of machines in the Real, and it's undoubtedly a moment to shake the foundations of existence here, however tenuous they may have been for all the decades humanity had to acclimate to them under their feet. But despite the kidnappings, there are still children up early the next morning whose parents don't have time for fear if it's not immediately bearing down on them. And it's far from bringing government to a standstill, regardless of whether publicly or behind closed doors; Zion is, ultimately — and regardless of prophecy, Steve would guess — a military-industrial complex, built from and structured around the existence of the machines.

Many of those who make their way back from the battle don't see much of any shifts of consciousness that may occur, mostly thanks to sleeping straight through it. The ZDG is made up of only a portion of the population, and their presence in the immediate isn't missed by the city at large, or at the marketplaces.

Which doesn't mean one person can't be missed. Especially once most everyone else is back on their feet. The last anyone saw of Steve he was making his way off the Phoenix, unsteady on his feet but not necessarily moreso than any other person on the docks that day. But he spoke to no one before going back to his apartment, able to disappear into a crowd more easily now (not that he's usually inclined to, and maybe there are certain people, spy people, whom he could've made proud with this particular evasion). Presumably he needed the rest. No one saw anything else that would otherwise account for an extended absence.

(There is, of course, the fact that he still needs to eat. He must be making his way out for food occasionally.)
